Investigations
- Bell Labs investigation, as reported by Nature, 2002He was found guilty of 16 counts of scientific misconduct and dismissed from Bell Laboratories in 2002 for falsifying research results, according to Nature.1
- German Federal Administrative Court (BVerwG 6 C 9.12), 31 July 2013Dismissed a physicist's appeal against a Baden-Württemberg university's revocation of his doctorate, holding that a lawfully earned doctorate can be revoked when the holder later manipulates or fabricates research results. The press release does not name him. Nature reports his case went on to the Federal Constitutional Court.2,1
- German Federal Constitutional Court, October 2014Upheld the University of Konstanz decision to revoke his 1998 PhD, his last appeal, according to Nature.1
